Blue Ridge Foundation New York supports start-up nonprofit organizations in New York City.

Our mission is to help develop effective strategies for connecting people living in high poverty communities to the opportunities, resources, and support that they need to fulfill their full potential. We pursue our mission by engaging deeply with talented leaders to turn innovative ideas into sustainable, effective organizations and by working to facilitate connections among our network of grantees. Over time, we hope that our grantees demonstrate tangible ways that well-designed and well-executed strategies can positively impact children, families, and communities and move us closer to achieving equal opportunity in New York City and beyond.

Funding to create, launch, and operate a new organization, including salaries for core project staff;
Strategic assistance in critical areas of organizational capacity (fundraising, strategic management, board development, etc) to support grantees' long-term sustainability;
A grantee community that allows the staff of our grantees to build the relationships critical for trading ideas, forming partnerships and tapping the expertise of their fellow social entrepreneurs in our network; and,
Back-office support to address administrative and operational challenges and ensure that grantee staff can focus adequately on substantive program-related activity.
