Eden Werring,
Founder of NYC office and Director of Major Gifts
Eden Werring, originally from Westport, Connecticut, received her B.A. in English Literature from Yale University in 1996. After working with the San Francisco Opera, she joined Summer Search in 1997. Eden served first as Office Manager and then as Associate Director of the San Francisco office for four years. After training extensively with founder Linda Mornell to learn Summer Search methods of mentoring students, Eden assumed the responsibility of becoming Executive Director of the Napa-Sonoma program. In just two years, Eden expanded that program to include over 120 students and created the first office infrastructure and a stable financial base of support. She started the New York City office in 2003, and in three years the program grew from serving 20 students to serving 60 students with a strong board and staff infrastructure. In early 2006, Eden transitioned into a leadership role training and fundraising for the program nationally and especially in New York. Eden is honored to have this new opportunity to bring this life-changing program to more kids in the future, in the city and all over the country.
